ANNUAL CAMPAIGN AND PLANNED GIVING
Why Give? People have many reasons for donating to Camp He Ho Ha, but like you they are all very passionate and very committed to ensuring that Camp He Ho Ha can continue its valuable work for years to come.
Contributions to Camp Health, Hope and Happiness Society are tax deductible. You can enjoy significant tax advantages now and/or you can protect your estate in the future by careful planning.
For many people, the annual campaign allows them to offer support today, while planned giving allows people to provide a higher level of support to Camp He Ho Ha in the future. And some planned gifts can grow well beyond the original contribution amount, providing added financial support to Camp in the years to come.
Annual Campaign: Camp He Ho Ha is Alberta's first summer camp for people with disabilities and the only facility of its kind in the province that does not discriminate on the basis of the type or degree of disability. Every spring Camp He Ho Ha launches its yearly drive to solicit pledges from businesses, service clubs and its many friends throughout the province. Funds raised in this manner are directed towards our summer programs for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities.
Last year 840 people with disabilities attended one of our week-long summer camps. Every year Camp He Ho Ha underwrites 50% of the actual cost of providing our recreational programming to people with disabilities. We rely on your donations to ensure that we can continue to provide high caliber, affordable recreational programming to our campers. Your donation of $80.00 will help send a person with a disability to Camp for one day!

Memorial and Tribute Gifts: Donations can be made to Camp Health, Hope and Happiness Society in memory or honor of a friend, co-worker or family member by sending a cheque directly to Camp, by pledging a gift over the telephone or by contacting Ellen Green at 780-429-3277, ext. 224 (ellen@camphehoha.com) Once we've received your gift, a card is sent to the family of the person honored, recognizing you as a donor. You will be issued a charitable donation receipt for any donation of $10.00 or more. You can even designate your contribution to the annual campaign, Camp endowment or it can be used to support the Camp programs and services of your choosing!

PLANNED GIVING
Someone once said, "If you're giving while you're living , then you knowing where it's going!" Planned giving means that you make plans today to make a gift to Camp Health, Hope and Happiness Society either now or in the future. Typical planned gifts are wills, endowments, gifts of personal or real property, insurance policies or investments you own.
Endowment: Our endowments have grown! Camp He Ho Ha now has a “family” of endowments, all held at the Edmonton Community Foundation. Our endowments include a general Camp endowment, the Kiwanis Club of Edmonton (Downtown) Endowment and the Bill and Sue Sadler Fund. Will: A valid will not only protects your loved ones, but it can also directly benefit Camp He Ho Ha Society. You can give a specific percentage of your estate, a specific dollar amount or leave a specific asset. We would be pleased to discuss with you any terms or conditions of your bequest,
to ensure that your gift is handled as you expressly desire.
Life Insurance: You may designate Camp He Ho Ha as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy. Naming Camp as a beneficiary in this manner does not require a will.
Outright Gifts: These can include cash, securities, real estate and personal property, the outright donation of which can provide you or your estate with a valuable charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes and can make a substantial contribution to the long-term financial viability of Camp He Ho Ha.
Campfire Circle of Friends Newsletter
The Campfire Circle News is a special publication issued to donors who have consistently supported Camp He Ho Ha over the years and who have made, or who might consider making, provision for Camp in their estate planning. We’ve chosen the name “Campfire Circle” for this Newsletter in order to recognize the central role these very gentle donors will play in bringing health, hope and happiness to countless thousands of people with disabilities with a future gift to Camp He Ho Ha’s endowment fund held at the Edmonton Community Foundation. The Campfire News will provide readers with valuable information on special events, estate planning, types of charitable giving instruments and much more!
